Dr. McGuckin was born and raised in Ridgewood, NJ. After receiving his BA (Psychology Sociology) from the University of Colorado and after serving in the Air Force, he attended Baylor College of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He attained Fellowship and later Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). After 11 years of general practice on Cape Cod, he attended the Medical College of Georgia where he received his Certificate in Postgraduate Prosthodontics, a Master of Science in Oral Biology (MSc) and an ADA Teacher Training Fellowship. He accepted a full time teaching position at the University of Texas Houston where he became the Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics and Director of the Postgraduate Prosthodontic Residency. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. McGuckin established his private practice in Orono, Maine, where he continues to practice, and will celebrate his forty-fifth year providing excellent patient care in 2018.
