Making a commitment to Duty, Honor and Country, Dr. Joel Sharow served three years in the United States Marine Corps, proudly earning an Honorable Discharge. After receiving his undergraduate degree in The Natural Sciences, Dr. Sharow received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine and instructed Pediatric Dentistry at the University for one year. Upon graduation, Dr. Sharow received awards in Pediatric Dentistry from the New Jersey Society of Dentistry for Children and Fairleigh Dickinson University, in Orthodontics from Fairleigh Dickinson U., and in Periodontics from the American Academy of Periodontology. Following graduation, Dr. Sharow completed a dual Dental Residency Program at both Monmouth Medical and at Centra State Medical Centers. Dr. Sharow was on the staff of Centra State Medical Center. He has belonged to several professional Societies, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Society of Dentistry for Children, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association and the Nashville Dental Society. Being deeply committed to continuing dental education, Dr. Sharow is constantly involved with continuing education programs via seminars throughout the United States and correspondence courses in all of the dental specialties. Dr. Sharow's son Kyle has recently received his honorable discharge from the US Army. Kyle lives at home in Nashville and has joined the staff of the practice. Kyle hopes to obtain his Dental Degree by 2015.
